Who can be listed

A business can be listed if either of these is true:

  • it is based on the Wintringham estate, or
  • it is run by someone who lives on the Wintringham estate, even if it is based elsewhere.

Sole traders, home businesses, small companies, childminders, tutors, clubs and classes are all welcome. Listing is free.

What we check

Before approving a listing, an admin checks that:

  • the business meets the rule above;
  • it is a real, active business with a working phone number or email address;
  • the description is accurate, clear and written for local customers;
  • it is in a suitable category;
  • photos and logos belong to the business, or it has permission to use them.

We check changes to a listing in the same way before they go live.

What we don't list

  • Businesses with no link to the Wintringham estate.
  • Anything illegal, or that needs a licence or registration the business doesn't have.
  • Adult services, gambling, weapons, or payday and high-cost lending.
  • Pyramid schemes and multi-level marketing recruitment.
  • Political parties, campaigns or religious promotion. Community groups are welcome.
  • Listings that are misleading, offensive, or criticise other businesses.
  • Duplicate listings for the same business.

What approval doesn't mean

We check that a business is local and genuine. We don't vet, recommend or guarantee the quality of any business, so please do your own checks (such as reviews, qualifications and insurance) before using a service.

Removing a listing

We may remove a listing that no longer meets these guidelines, or if the business has closed. Owners can delete their own account and listings at any time from My profile in theowner portal.

Can't find your category?

When you set up your listing, you can suggest a new category. We'll add it before your listing goes live if it makes sense for the directory.
